Company Profile

The strength of the Facility Strategies Group team is our experience in all aspects of engineering, with our team’s key staff having more than 150 collective years in the building energy and MEP field. We provide services across a range of engineering services including energy engineering, design and construction administration, and commissioning. When we do energy planning, audits, and utility studies, these inform us of what options are possible and cost-effective. When we design and specify controls and equipment, this gives us extensive experience with building Codes, equipment selection, integration, and design basis requirements necessary to ensure and optimize building performance. When we commission capital replacement projects and new construction projects, including using data analytics tools such as SkySpark and functional test protocols to confirm that equipment and control systems are operating as intended before it is accepted as substantially complete, this gives us a deeper understanding of what can cause the best of designs to not perform as intended and ideas into how best to ensure buildings operate properly and efficiently. And when we verify savings through measurement & verification, this ensures we understand how differences in operating sequences, construction practices, system designs, or equipment maintenance affect long term performance. As a result, our team is cross trained in different functional areas, taking advantage of the functional synergies and staff capabilities and training.

We have 15 engineers, consultants, technicians, and administrative support staff located in North and South Carolina, New York, Georgia, and Michigan. Our staff have numerous licenses and certifications, including several professional engineers, certified engineers in training, energy managers, commissioning agents, measurement & verification professionals, certified controls professionals, HERS raters, and LEED-accredited professionals.

Leading by Example

Facility Strategies Group’s main office is certified Silver under the USGBC LEED for Commercial Interiors rating system. We offset 100% of our electric usage through the purchase of Green-e certified RECs, and we have an active office recycling and composting program in place. FSG offers it’s employees the opportunity to telecommute to reduce vehicle miles traveled, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the local air quality. We also track airline miles traveled and gallons of fuel used for work related travel in order to offset these carbon emissions.
